Food 365 | Day 256: City Sandwich’s Alex

When City Sandwich opened two years ago, I knew I had stumbled upon something very special the second I had one of their unique sandwiches. Instead of mayonnaise and pedestrian condiments, they top their sandwiches with yogurt based sauces or simply with olive oil and let the fresh ingredients sing. I have my go-to there (looking at you, the Maria) but I do love their daily specials as well. For Friday, it was the Alex, a warm sandwich stuffed with spicy Soppressata, onion, roasted peppers, spinach, parmesan, capers and piri piri peppers. Finished with one of their mini panna cotta topped with strawberry port sauce, this was one satisfying meal.
