Food 365 | Day 44: Is Porridge the New Thing?

Is porridge the next new thing in food?  This must have been the third or fourth time I have seen it on the menu outside of a traditional Chinese restaurant (even there, did we ever really see this lowly homey dish that frequently?).  What is up with that?  I usually have mine at home with salty pickles but this particular version with soy glazed cod and kabocha squash wasn’t half bad.
