Fall Cheese Board for Night In with the Girls

October 11, 2012

We go out so much in the city that a rare night in is a great change of pace.  A quick walk through Eataly and Garden of Eden was all I needed to throw together a cheese board for a girls night in.  Fig season is in full swing – a crusty loaf of fig bread from Eataly, fresh brown Turkish figs and a fig jam from Trader Joe’s.  This might make for a slightly monotonous cheese board but I couldn’t resist.  To go with the figs, I love prosciutto for its buttery texture and salty bite.  A firmer cured salami and a wedge of petite Basque rounded out the board.  Grab a glass of wine while we wait for a baked brie in the oven, it’s time to settle in comfortably and start the night!
