Letting the Day Take Me Away…

Sometimes, instead of adhering to reservations and on the clock meals, I love not having a food agenda and just let the day unfold.

Sunday started with a jot of caffeine with a cup of cappuccino at Joe The Art of Coffee.  I spent the next two hours elbows deep at the B&H mega store with HF looking and playing with lenses.

Hunger led us to Chelsea Market and straight into Tuck Shop for some great Aussie eats.  And great Aussie eats we found as HF and I bit into the flaky and buttery crust of these handheld beauties, classic beef pie and a spicy Thai chicken.

To sooth our throats from the spicy Tuck pies, a Hot Pink Juice from One Lucky Duck.  Beets made this hot pink and pineapples and pear made it fruity and floral.  Deliciously healthy and refreshing.

One wrong turn out of the 1 train station at Houston led to a sweet find.  I found myself at Sweet Revenge Bakery on my way to meeting JZ in Soho.  A crimson & cream cupcake to go please!

Seeking refuge from an early evening shower, JZ and I ducked into the Nespresso store and cafe on Prince.  We craved a much needed rest for our tired feet after dashing in and out of stores on West Broadway.  A cup of earl grey for JZ…

…and a second cup of cappuccino of the day for me.

Of course, coffee is not complete without a few sweet bites.  The dessert trio included a chocolate chip financier, an one-bite canele and a beautiful lavendar macaron.
