Remember When…

July 13, 2011

Remember when we used to always stop by the Salumeria counter at Reading for a quarter pound of prosciutto di parma after shopping each Saturday (Gosh, I can’t believe that we are already old enough and have known each other long enough to say this)?  Remember when we would gingerly lift each translucent piece to the light before letting it melt in our mouths?  Remember how buttery and sweet and deliciously salty each slice was?

Prosciutto San Daniele del Friuli

Well, I found myself remembering it all when I tasted this delicate slice of prosciutto San Daniele del Friuli.  Each piece, tender and lightly sweet, is simple yet complex, no need for anything else on the plate.  Like the memories, beautiful just the way they are.  Here’s to another 7 years of memories and remember-when’s.
